Border Maker System
Youngevity has always been fairly relaxed about their compete clauses, but they draw the line on a few things. I've pulled some excerpts from the Policies and Procedures found in the Youngevity Resource Center, and added a bit of an explanation to them as well. It's very important that everyone read and understand this, as it can directly effect your distributorship. Make the decision about where you are focusing your building efforts and your time, then make the change to fix it.
Here are YGYI's policies:
CAN I RECRUIT DISTRIBUTORS INTO ANOTHER COMPANY OR OPPORTUNITY I AM INVOLVED WITH?
"E 12 - Distributors are strictly forbidden from Cross-Recruiting, and shall not sell, recruit, propose, or in any other way induce or attempt to induce any other Distributor to purchase any product or service, or to participate in any other income opportunity, investment, venture, or commit any other activity deemed, at the full discretion of the Company, as cross-recruiting. This includes any such activities across any divisions of the Company, should any separate divisions with different compensation plans and or hierarchy structures exist, unless, and as specifically stated otherwise. The integrity of the hierarchy and the relationships therein is of paramount importance to Youngevity Policies and Procedures every Distributor as well as to the Company. Any Distributor violating this provision may be subject to immediate termination for cause, forfeiting any and all commissions due him or her."
What does this mean? What is "Cross Recruiting"? It is recruiting someone that you have not personally sponsored into Youngevity, into another company or opportunity. Even if that person is a member of your downline, if you did not personally sponsor them, then you can't recruit them into another company without putting your YGY distributorship at risk. It is disrespectful, and is stepping into someone else's business organization.
Cross-recruiting is also trying to sponsor someone who already has a position in Youngevity, to come over to your organization. We don't do this, we don't support this, so don't even try. We are one team, one dream, and it turns positive collaboration into sneaky competition and it's ugly and not the way we behave. Don't try to game the system by having them set up another account, or you will get caught and your distributorship as well as the distributorship of the newly enrolled distributor could be terminated. If someone has offered this as an alternative to you or a team member, report it to your upline leader, and to firstname.lastname@example.org.
CAN MORE THAN ONE PERSON IN A HOUSEHOLD HAVE A YGY DISTRIBUTOR ACCOUNT?
G3 - No two adults in the same household shall hold Distributorships in more than one line of Enrollment or Placement.
What does this mean? Two individuals in the same household may have accounts, but not in separate organizations. Two individuals in the same household can't have a 2nd account under a different upline. You can't be in one organization and have your spouse or child in another.
CAN I SELL COMPETING PRODUCTS?
19p - No hyperlinks to other websites promoting competing products may be used on any Youngevity Distributor’s website. No products other than Youngevity products may be mentioned or sold on any Youngevity Distributor’s website. This includes but is not limited to product comparisons.
19y - Links to Competing Companies: Posting information from, or links to, competing companies is not allowed. Such activity will be viewed as cross-recruiting and is a direct violation of your representative / distributor agreement.
What does this mean? You can't sell competing products together on the same site. This includes other businesses, affiliate links to other companies, promoting competing product, etc.
This was explained to me also meaning at the same event, like a trade show, expo, fair, or other event marketed as a Youngevity event.
IN A NUTSHELL, while you can join multiple companies, and sell any product you'd like, you can't sell competing product at the same web location, and you can't recruit distributors that someone else sponsored into Youngevity, to be part of your business in another company. Doing so would impact your Distributorship in Youngevity, and you could be terminated. There we have it! :-)
As my wise grandmother always said, "A bird in the hand is better than two in the bush". I've thought a lot about this over the years and it is so true. Find a home that is stable and that has something you're passionate about, nurture that, build and grow that, do everything you can to help make it become as successful as you can, and don't worry about everything else lurking on the horizon.
